# $HIVE Mining

A hhToken earns vault yield on its own, through exchange-rate appreciation — no staking required, no claim step. Staking it mines HIVE on top of that yield.

Staking never unwinds the underlying position, so staked capital keeps compounding at the vault rate the entire time. Mining is additive, not a trade-off — there is no version of this where a user chooses between yield and emissions.

#### Normalizing across vaults

Staked hhTokens are denominated in different underlying assets, so emissions accrue against the USD value of the staked position, marked each epoch using the vault exchange rate and an oracle price. One dollar of staked hhHYPE and one dollar of staked hhUSDC mine at the same base rate. The incentive stays neutral across vaults rather than accidentally favoring whichever asset happens to be priced highest.

#### Vault weighting

Base emissions are then scaled by a per-vault multiplier, adjustable by governance and used to direct capital toward vaults the protocol wants deeper. It is set to \[1.0×] across all vaults at launch, so mining starts uniform and only diverges if there is a reason for it to.

Staking is flexible. There are no lock-up tiers and no commitment periods — capital can be unstaked at any time, and mining accrues for exactly as long as it stays staked.
